Global Fraud Solution Leader Kount Commits to Downtown Boise

SaaS company to move headquarters to 100-year old downtown landmark

BOISE, Idaho – Kount, a global innovator of solutions for fraud and risk management, is re-upping on its commitment to Boise, one of the nation’s fastest growing metros. As the company prepares for another year of significant growth, its leadership is investing in a move that allows for future expansion and keeps the company headquartered in the city where it started.

“During the past decade, Kount has grown to be a major force within the ecommerce industry by helping to protect some of the world’s most well-known brands from fraud,” said Kount CEO Brad Wiskirchen. “In that time, we raised one of the largest private equity rounds in Idaho history, and there has been pressure to move to places considered traditional tech hotbeds. But we know our innovation, growth and success comes from where our roots are – and that is in Boise, Idaho.”

Kount has signed a letter of intent for 35,500 square feet of what’s known as the Langroise Building at the corner of 10th Street and Main Street in Downtown Boise. The iconic office building is more than 100 years old and will undergo a remodel to maintain its historical integrity while modernizing the exterior and interiors to fit the culture of a growing tech company. Thornton Oliver Keller and Sawtooth Development Group were instrumental in helping Kount realize the potential of the building.

“Beyond remodeling this building, we truly want to revitalize it as a Class A office space befitting a dynamic tech company on one of Downtown’s vibrant corners,” said Sawtooth Development Group CEO Shane Felker. “Working with design partners CTA, Tenth and Main will showcase a contemporarily designed facade, floor to ceiling windows, an upgraded lobby, new elevator, and a potential 5th floor expansion.”

Already employing more than 100 people in its existing facility just south of the Boise River, Kount plans to nearly double in size by the end of 2019 when they anticipate moving into Tenth and Main. Company leaders cite the synergy and support of public and private partners for the company’s decision to remain and grow in Boise.

“From the proximity of the Boise State computer science program to the dynamic growth of food, entertainment and retail options in surrounding blocks – Downtown fits the culture of our company and supports and energizes our talented team which is at the core of Kount’s success,” said Kount Vice President of Human Resources Kate Lenz.
