United Heritage Insurance Opens New Meridian Office Complex

via United Heritage press release

United Heritage Insurance officially opened a new partially solar-powered office building February 23, 2015 at its corporate campus in Meridian’s Central Valley Corporate Park, located just off Interstate 84.

The 20,000 square foot, two-story building features a new energy efficiency design utilizing 20% solar power and incorporating other energy saving devices including LED lighting throughout. The opening ceremony culminates the company’s 80th year in the life insurance industry; the company expanded its portfolio of insurance products in 2000 to provide property and casualty insurance. “United Heritage Insurance has grown to be one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Idaho today and, with the addition of this beautiful new facility to our campus, we are better positioned to provide quality insurance services to American families for generations to come,” stated Dennis L. Johnson, President and CEO.

The new addition to its corporate campus in Meridian will house a home office mail and print operations group of the company. United Heritage Insurance provides centralized services from its Meridian home office for its four operating companies based in Idaho, Oregon and California, as well as a network of more than 1800 independent agents throughout 38 states and the District of Columbia.

Solar Synergy

The innovative solar design system utilizes a 19.8 kilowatt Grid Tie Solar System with 72 solar panels on the southwest slope roof that will generate up to 20% of the energy consumption in the new building, as well as withstand heavy accumulation of snow and ice. The SolarWorld 275w panel system has been manufactured in the U.S. and constructed locally by Aurora Power & Design of Boise. Extensive use of other energy saving devices is incorporated throughout the complex design, including LED lighting inside and outside the building, with the addition of a charging station for electric vehicles in future development.
