St. Alphonsus to Build Brand New Nampa Hospital

Saint Alphonsus will be building a replacement hospital at the corner of I-84 and Garrity Avenue in Nampa, Idaho. The new $80 million facility will replace the hospital currently located on 12th Avenue in Nampa. Hospital officials are planning on opening the new hospital by the summer of 2017, which will also mark the 100th anniversary of the only Catholic hospital in Nampa.

Large New WestVet Pet Hospital Is In The Works For Garden City

WestVet Emergency & Specialty Center has started construction on a two-story, 32,000-square-foot new small animal hospital next to its existing hospital at Chinden Road and 50th Street in Garden City.

The new hospital will have five operating rooms and 16 exam rooms, and an intensive care unit designed for pets and their visiting owners. It will be bigger than a few of the human hospitals in Idaho.

Veterinary surgeon Jeff Brourman established WestVet in 2005. His 35 vets and 80 other staff now operate in an 11,000-square-foot hospital with two operating rooms and nine exam rooms. Brourman expects to add six more specialists and increase overall staffing to 200.

St. Luke’s Receives 2016 Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence Award

Distinguished Hospitals for Clinical Excellence are hospitals rated in the top 5% in the nation with the lowest risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates across at least 21 of 32 common conditions and procedures. Patients treated in hospitals receiving the Distinguished Hospitals for Clinical Excellence Award have, on average, a lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the designation. 

What differentiates these hospitals from the rest is while many hospitals have specific areas of expertise and high-quality outcomes for some conditions and procedures, these hospitals exhibit comprehensive and consistent quality across a range of conditions and procedures.

St. Luke’s Named Top 10 Percent in Nation for Patient Experience

Performance at both St. Luke's facilities places the organization among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide. Saint Alphonsus Donation Brings Cutting-Edge Technology to CWI

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise has donated a da Vinci Robotic Surgical System to the College of Western Idaho's (CWI) Surgical Technology program. The system allows surgeons to perform complex surgical procedures through the use of an interactive robot with instrument arms, and 3D HD cameras that provide a magnified view from inside the body. The da Vinci Surgical System, which was used at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise for the past decade, will now be used to teach students in CWI’s Surgical Technology program.
